Building and pest inspection prices: a guide for Ipswich buyers

These published ranges are a starting point for budgeting. They are Brisbane figures; Ipswich prices may differ. Your inspector confirms the actual price once they know the home's size, age, height off the ground and access.

Published ranges, not local quotes. Confirm the price with your inspector. These are published Brisbane ranges (source below), not an Ipswich price list. They are for planning only and are not a quote.

What changes the price

Where these figures come from

The combined, building-only, timber pest and large or older home ranges are from What's the Damage's Brisbane building inspection cost guide, verified October 2026 (What's the Damage). They are Brisbane figures and Ipswich prices may differ. No reliable published figures were found for stage, pre-handover or re-inspection work, so those rows say quote required. Once a local inspector is confirmed, this table will be replaced with their own price list.

Why the cheapest report is not always the best value

Under an REIQ contract you usually get one chance, before 5pm on the inspection date, to act on what the report finds. A rushed or limited report that misses termite damage under a Queenslander, or skips a built-in lower level, can cost far more than the price difference between two quotes. Compare what is included: full subfloor and roof space access, a moisture meter or thermal camera, photos, the Australian Standards followed, the inspector's licence details, and whether the report will arrive in time for your deadline.

Get a fixed price for your property

Send the address, inspection type and your contract inspection date on the quote form, and an independent local inspector will confirm a fixed price. See the pre-purchase building and pest inspection, building inspection, termite and timber pest inspection and new home stage inspections.
